If you’ve noticed our pause in uploading podcast episodes for the past couple months, it’s because Elaina and I are in an exciting rebranding stage! In full honesty, this process has been a longer one than we anticipated, so we are eager to get back into recording. However, this season has been fully necessary for us to grow, appreciate, and bask in the anticipation of returning to our baby — the podcast! :’)
We have noticed a particular and overarching flaw about our tendencies with the pod — setting unrealistic expectations. While our perfectionism and determination to do well is telling of how much we care, it can be the very thing that pulls us into a rut. El and I have instead tried to take the slow and steady route during this time so that we can think clearly before acting. Not to mention, we were both in the middle of our very last month of school and graduating back in December! Plus, the holidays are a chaotic time for everybody. So, having grace for ourselves plays a key role in the prosperity of Fresh Validation.
A crazy exciting aspect of the rebranding process has been reimagining and creating the new “vibe” of our podcast. What do we want to encompass within our brand? Should we start a blog? What will our color scheme be and what do we want it to say about us? How will we create a catchy jingle for our episodes? Should we consider designing and offering merchandise to listeners? What will our content schedule consist of? Those are just a few of the logistics up for discussion lately. Again, it’s important that we pace the process rather than overwhelm ourselves with all these questions at once. A little spoiler for our friends reading: Elaina and I are in the process of designing sweatshirts for ourselves to eventually promote and get a feel for what our audience thinks. Exciting stuff!
Our most anticipated level-up is perhaps the upcoming photo shoot. Elaina and I have brainstormed many things with careful consideration, but none like a good photo opportunity. We will be creating a new cover photo for our podcast and need content to brand ourselves well, so why not get in touch with a professional photographer… right?!
The most important thing to Elaina and I is that we stay true to ourselves by rooting our personalities and character into what we create. This allows us to offer something original and heartfelt for our listeners. If anything, our podcast episodes do the best job of conveying this compared to any aesthetic or vibe we could possibly convey on social media. The meat and potatoes is in the actual podcast itself, so be sure to listen in!
